NADSA MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
NADSA IS YOUR ADVOCATE AND REPRESENTATIVE IN WASHINGTON D.C.
Your membership in NADSA ensures that your voice is represented and that our collective voices add weight to issues that matter to you and to the families and individuals you serve. In 2007, NADSA was instrumental in representing our collective interests in the following ways:
Actively advocated for reauthorization of the Older Americans Act-a significant piece of legislation that directly affects support and funding for home and community-based services, including Adult Day Services.
Testified at Congressional Hearings in support of the Life Span Respite Bill. This bill substantially funds respite for persons of all ages. Adult Day Services stand to gain from the success of the bill. Provision of respite services is fundamental to what we do.
Represented Adult Day Services while holding a seat on the prestigious Leadership Council of Aging Organizations (LCAO), a coalition of national nonprofit organizations focused on the well being of America's older population.
Worked cooperatively with the Veterans Administration to shape new regulations, improve funding to adult day organizations, and increase access to Adult Day Services for America's Veterans.
The NADSA Public Policy Committee actively seeks your input on issues that matter to you and encourages all interested NADSA members and industry stakeholders to join the Committee. If you would like more information about the NADSA Public Policy Committee, please contact Troy Carter, at president@adcat.org
